Get better texture in coffee cocktails

Coffee brings bitterness, aroma and often foam. Freshness, temperature and sweetness affect the result.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the recipe's measured coffee and let hot espresso cool before adding it to the shaker.
  2. Measure coffee liqueur rather than assuming it supplies the same sweetness as another brand.
  3. Shake the non-carbonated ingredients firmly with plenty of ice.
  4. Strain into a chilled glass and serve promptly as the foam settles.

Common mistake

Cold brew and espresso are not identical in strength or foam. Start with the recipe's coffee type rather than substituting equal amounts blindly.

Try it
