Look for clear ml markings, including small 5–15 ml measures. Accurate small quantities matter more than decorative finishes.

Cocktail shaker

Choose a capacity that holds a single recipe plus plenty of ice. A two-piece shaker needs a separate strainer; a three-piece shaker usually has one built in.

Citrus press

Choose a press suited to the fruit sizes you use and a design that is easy to wash. A peeler is useful for strips of aromatic citrus skin.

Buy for a recipe, not a bigger shelf

Choose a few drinks with overlapping ingredients. Check the exact spirit style, bottle strength and liqueur type before substituting. A flavour name does not tell you whether a bottle is a spirit, a sweet liqueur or an alcohol-free alternative.

Alcohol purchases are for adults 18+. Choose quantities for your planned recipes; a larger order is not a reason to drink more.

Alcohol-free ingredients

Tea, juice, syrups and soda can make a satisfying drink. When zero alcohol matters, check every label rather than relying on the name or appearance.
